Race 3 of the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season at Autodrome Chaudière

Montreal, June 12, 2022 – Canadian pilot Alex Tagliani, from Lachenaie, Quebec, has completed the third round of the 2022 NASCAR Pinty's Series in a solid fifth place,

held at Autodrome Chaudière, the quarter-mile oval track located in Vallée- Junction, Quebec.

After a good performance in qualifying, Tagliani started the race in fourth place. Tag spent the first half of this QWICK WICK 250 presented by St-Hubert in battle with Kevin Lacroix (from St-Eustache) and Donald Theetge (from Boischatel) for the sixth and seventh place on the track. At the mandatory break of this race scheduled for 250 laps, Alex's technical team has made good adjustments to the Chevrolet Camaro 22Racing Team No.18 in the colors of VIAGRA - St-Hubert. Tagliani was then able to avoid incidents on this tricky quarter-mile track, on the way to a well-deserved Top 5. Andrew Ranger (from Roxton Pond) won this race, followed by his teammate Marc-Antoine Camirand (of Saint-Léonard d'Aston). Ontarian (St. Thomas native) DJ ??Kennington has finished third, ahead of Louis-Philippe (from Trois-Rivières) and Alex Tagliani. Twenty-three pilots took the start of this 250-lap event which ended in overtime with a green-white-checkered restart, while eleven drivers were still in the lap of the leader. "It's a great effort from the team. They made good adjustments during the break to bring the car to a higher level. There were very strong cars, and a lot of competition, in the peloton today. Towards the end, the yellows did not fall to our advantage. I think that we had the pace to fight for a Top 3 spot, but when the guys were running side by side, it was difficult because the top and bottom of the track were blocked" explains Alex Tagliani, who adds: "A big thank you to Qwick Wick for their support of the race and their presence on the track, this marked the launch of our Tag 4 packs in the Canadian market. With the season of camping that starts full throttle, we were happy to show the product to the fans Quebecers who are incredible".

Alex underlines: “Overall it was a great race. A good points day when you finish in the Top 5 of a race like this and you walk away with the car in decent condition, only with some minor cosmetic damage”.
Now championship leader after this third race of the season, Alex concludes: “ I can't wait for the next event, especially since it will be a new track for everything in the world. Looks like it's going to be a great event! I am of course very happy to be at Tied at the top of the championship and I look forward to adding more great performances to our season.” In the driver standings, Alex Tagliani has moved up from third place to a tie with Lacroix is at the top of the scores.
